Malina Skade, Box-Build Production Assistant:
The newest addition to our team, Malina, enjoys the challenge of complex assemblies and takes pride in contributing to products that make a real difference, like KuboRobots and Danish Technology Care. She's eager to expand her knowledge and skills through upcoming training.
"In Box-Build, I find a unique blend of focus and creativity. Sometimes, instructions can be complex, requiring a bit of problem-solving to make all the parts fit perfectly. It's like a puzzle you put together piece by piece, and seeing the final assembled product, knowing I played a part in creating something that someone will use, that's incredibly rewarding." Malina points out.
Emil Sørensen, Box-Build Production Assistant:
Emil emphasises the importance of precision and attention to detail in Box-Build assembly. He takes ownership of his work and values the collaborative environment across the different departments, where expertise is shared and problems are tackled together.
“Precision and attention to detail are absolutely crucial in Box-Build. Every component needs to be assembled according to the specifications and if a problem occurs we are able to solve the problem together with PTA” says Emil.
René K. Nielsen, Box-Build Production Assistant:

Last week we visited our valued customer Cautus Geo at their beautiful location near Oslo. It was a pleasure to strengthen our relationship and learn more about their innovative data loggers.
Cautus Geo's loggers can be used to monitor vibration during infrastructure projects, ensuring safety and stability. Øystein Berle Jensen, one of their competent technicians, (thanks for the tour! ) showed us their impressive testing facilities ️ and we learned about their meticulous calibration process.

Welcome back to our exploration of Through-Hole Technology (THT) at Micro Technic! Today, we'd like to introduce you to some of the exceptional individuals who bring their expertise and dedication to our THT department: Barbara, Winnie, and Yasmin.
Yasmin, THT Production Assistant:
Yasmin, one of our dedicated Production Assistants, thrives on the deep focus and meticulous nature of THT work. " It requires a laser focus on the PCB I'm working on, and achieving that level of concentration is surprisingly satisfying. I find it incredibly rewarding to be fully immersed in my different tasks every day."
Winnie, THT Production Assistant:
Winnie emphasises the responsibility and ownership associated with the THT work. "You take individual accountability for the quality of every PCB you handle," she explains. "However, it's a collaborative effort! We have a strong sense of teamwork, constantly supporting each other and sharing our best practices. In fact, I recently decided to become an electronics operator to further enhance my ability to assist my colleagues."
Barbara, THT Production Assistant:
Finally, Barbara, a seasoned THT veteran with almost 16 years of experience, highlights the collaborative spirit and the inherent satisfaction of creation when working with THT. "Problem-solving is a big part of THT," she says. "We work closely with our SMT, PTA, and Test departments. It's truly a team effort, and when everything comes together – everyone contributes to solving a challenge, and when I see the finished product – that's incredibly fulfilling. The sense of creation is truly rewarding."

Our THT department utilizes a combination of advanced tools and meticulous manual processes to ensure the highest quality results for larger components and those requiring specialized attention.
THT vs. SMT: Choosing the Right Technology for the job 💪
Some might confuse SMT and THT for the same thing, but they are actually not quite the same.
SMT excels in high-volume production of compact electronic devices. Its miniaturized components enable high-density designs, while automated assembly processes ensure speed and cost-effectiveness.
THT is suitable for applications requiring larger components or manual assembly flexibility. Additionally, THT offers robust mechanical connections, making it ideal for applications experiencing stress or vibration.

Our THT team consult detailed instructions from our PTA and carefully selects components for the PCB they are going to work on.
👩🏭 Pre-Assembly & Soldering:
Components are meticulously placed and then wave-soldered for efficient, reliable connections.
🔎 Inspection & Finishing:
Rigorous visual and automated checks ensure quality before hand-soldering any remaining components.
📦 Testing & Out the Door:
The PCBs then head to testing for final approval before reaching you!

Wednesday we participated in Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark Internship and Project Day for Engineers. We are passionate about supporting the next generation of engineers and providing them hands-on experience through our diverse internship and finals project opportunities.
This year, Anders and Frank represented Micro Technic, engaging with students and showcasing the breadth of engineering projects we undertake.

Christian is an intern in our Test department, and he shares that no matter how much you learn or know, you are always going to need a little help from time to time,
"At Micro Technic, helpfulness goes both ways! When I started, my older colleagues were amazing at showing me the ropes. Now, as I learn new things e.g. a specific soldering technique, I can even help others even if they might have more experience than me! We all have different strengths. Here, it's not about seniority - everyone needs a hand sometimes, and you can always learn something new."

Meet Thore, our Quality Manager, who has been with Micro Technic for over 22 years. Thore sees the PTA department as detectives skilled at solving the problems that land on their desks.
Issues naturally find their way to the PTA team because of their skill set and experience, enabling them to tackle challenges effectively. Proficient in both practical and technical aspects, PTA serves as a valuable sparring partner for both our R&D and Production teams. Their dual approach allows them to excel in finding solutions that often evade others.
However, their work is not only internal:
"We provide a special service: tailored feedback for our customers, should they desire it. Before production begins, we meticulously review the circuit boards, offering expert optimizations. It's not just a perk—it's a game-changer. Case in point: we once saved a customer significant resources by suggesting a PCB design tweak pre-production."
Thore loves that no two days are the same in the PTA department. He finds it incredibly rewarding to contribute to avoiding production stops and ensuring smooth operations for his colleagues through his work as Micro Technic´s very own detective.

But René didn't stop there. For the past 20 years, he has focused on mastering the art of planning. This experience has equipped him with a sharp eye for optimizing production flow and a keen understanding of how all the pieces fit together to create real change.

Meet Michael, our IPC-certified specialist with a deep understanding of quality assurance and a passion for efficiency. With his expertise, Michael wields our AOI machine like an extension of himself, designing in-depth optical inspections of our customers' PCBs.
Michael's IPC certification gives him a solid background in quality standards for electronics manufacturing. He uses his knowledge to ensure that our PCBs meet their requirements. Michael is also a big advocate for efficiency and always strives to find smarter working processes.
Michael's passion for his work is evident when discussing our AOI machine.
"Visual inspection of PCBs can be time-consuming, but the AOI machine is a valuable tool in my arsenal! It allows me to partner with advanced technology to find those sneaky defects that could cause havoc. It's a rewarding challenge that keeps our products in tip-top shape."
Michael's work with the AOI machine is an important part of our quality control process. By inspecting the PCBs before the full-scale production starts, we can catch any potential errors and thus save time and resources for ourselves and our customers.

Meet Annette, our Production Assistant in the PTA department, who has been with Micro Technic for over 5 years. Annette loves to streamline processes and find smart solutions. She is a true problem solver who is always ready to help colleagues and customers.
Annette plays a central role in the PTA department as the bridge between customers and the company. She ensures that customer data is translated into a format that our colleagues and different devices can understand. In addition, she creates detailed instructions for each PCB design, ensuring an efficient production process.
Annette's passion for her work shines through in her approach to helping her colleagues succeed. "Honestly, the best part?" she shares, "It's when you see a project seamlessly fall into place because you were there to guide it. It's like turning complex customer data into a roadmap, handing them the keys to success. And let me tell you, seeing them triumph knowing I played a part? That's what it's all about."

Our SMT department offers a wide range of services, including prototype development and modifications of PCBs.
Anita, our SMT manager, has a special passion for prototype development. "I love using my experience and expertise to help customers create PCBs that not only meet the technical requirements but are also optimal for scaled-up production," she says. The close proximity of our R&D department is also quite the bonus. It allows her to easily pop over and show them exactly what she’s working on, fostering smooth collaboration, and ensuring optimal results for our clients.
We also offer modifications of existing PCBs to meet specific customer requirements. Anja, an experienced employee in the SMT department, enjoys working on these challenging tasks. "It requires a steady hand and a keen eye," she says. "But that's also what makes it fun."
