Our SMT department excels in placing components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) using advanced pick-and-place machines, complemented by the skilled touch of our experienced technicians. The components are then secured through our reflow oven, ensuring optimal adhesion and functionality.

“Surface Mount Technology (SMT) is not just about automation,” says Frank, who has been a part of our SMT for 8 years. “We all have individual freedom in how we approach different tasks, but we are also very aware of the joint responsibility to create a seamless flow for our production.”

Maintaining a comprehensive inventory of components is crucial for meeting diverse project needs. Each component has a unique function, and our SMT and procurement departments ensure that we have the right parts at the right time, adding reliability and efficiency to our production processes.

Precision in Prototype Development & Production Support

Our department is equipped to handle both low-volume prototypes and high-volume production runs. This flexibility is a key value proposition for our customers, ensuring their specific needs are met with precision and care.

“I love using my experience and expertise to help customers create PCBs that not only meet technical requirements but are also optimal for scaled-up production,” says Anita, our SMT manager. When working on new Prototypes, the proximity of our R&D department is also quite the bonus. It allows Anita to easily pop over and show them exactly what she’s working on, fostering smooth collaboration between development and production, and resulting in optimal results for our clients.

We also offer modifications of existing PCBs to meet specific customer requirements. Anja, a veteran with nearly 30 years of experience, enjoys working on these challenging tasks. “It requires a steady hand and a keen eye,” she says. “But that’s also what makes it fun.“

Rigorous Quality Control & Teamwork

Quality control is at the heart of our SMT operations. Employing both automated optical inspection (AOI) and meticulous manual checks, we guarantee that every PCB meets our high standards.

Helle, a seasoned employee with 15 years of experience, takes quality assurance very seriously. “I’m almost hysterical when it comes to checking for errors,” she says. “I often triple-check the PCBs, just to be sure they are perfect before we start mass production.”

Rikke, part of the SMT team, adds, “It is not about running at full speed without making sure you’re handing over a good product to your colleagues. You need to ensure that the PCBs uphold our standards and that the customer gets a product that lives up to their expectations.”
