Experience and Precision: Karl and Lars Ensure Quality from Start to Finish

Karl and Lars are among the longest-serving members of our development department.

With over 30 years of experience in software development, Karl has been a driving force behind Micro Technic’s software solutions since 1992. He takes pride in delivering robust software that is easy to implement, test, and maintain.

“I work best when I can focus in peace, but I truly value the ability to collaborate with my colleagues. Good software isn’t just about functionality – it needs to be well thought out from start to finish. The entire process matters; you must also consider production, the installer, and the end user,” Karl explains.

Lars, who has been with us for nearly 12 years as a Senior Electronics Engineer, works closely with colleagues across departments, including production and testing. He designs and optimises circuits to ensure our products are both efficient and easy to manufacture.

“My job is to design circuit boards that not only work but are also optimised for production. It’s all about balancing technical requirements, customer needs, and cost – that’s where we create real value,” says Lars.

Together, Karl and Lars ensure our products are both technically robust and practically applicable. Their combined experience and commitment to continuous improvement are evident in everything we deliver.

Enthusiasm and Passion: Benjamin and Nicolas Bring Fresh Thinking to the Team

Benjamin and Nicolas are among the latest additions to our development department, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. Together, they form a strong team that blends deep technical expertise with a forward-thinking approach.

Benjamin, our embedded software engineer, is focused on further developing our Skylark IoT products. He has always been fascinated by how mathematical principles can bring inanimate objects to life.

“I find it exciting that we can get something as small as a microchip to perform complex tasks – just through software. It’s like teaching a rock to think by introducing it to mathematics!” Benjamin says enthusiastically.

Nicolas, an electronics engineer, started his career as an electrician but quickly realised he wanted to design solutions rather than install them. With a hands-on approach to electronics, he focuses on creating products that are both innovative and practical to manufacture.

“Today, I help coordinate tasks across the department, and I enjoy ensuring that customer requirements become a reality. I’ve realised that customer interaction is an essential part of my work,” Nicolas explains.

With Benjamin and Nicolas on board, the development department benefits from fresh insights and new ways of tackling challenges. They prove that technical expertise, creative thinking, and a customer-focused mindset are key to developing outstanding products.

Practical Expertise and Precision Engineering: Kenneth and Thomas Optimise Solutions

Kenneth and Thomas are the newest members of the team, and their diverse backgrounds make them a powerful addition.

Kenneth, our firmware engineer, has taken an unconventional path to firmware development – his background includes roles as a sailor, car mechanic, mechanical engineer, computer scientist, and electronics engineer! He leverages his broad experience to develop simple, fast, and resource-efficient solutions.

“For me, firmware development isn’t just about creating solutions in the moment – it’s about understanding how hardware and software interact to form an efficient and reliable system. My experience across multiple industries helps me see problems from different angles and develop solutions that are both technically smart and practically viable,” Kenneth points out.

Thomas, our hardware engineer, has a sharp analytical mind and primarily works with testing and quality assurance. He believes that troubleshooting is one of the most crucial aspects of the development process.

“My job is to ensure everything works perfectly before it reaches the customer. It’s not just about identifying errors – it’s about understanding why they occur and how we can design them out. Prevention is always better!” Thomas says with a smile.

Together, Kenneth and Thomas ensure our solutions are not only intelligent but also thoroughly tested and optimised. They examine every detail to guarantee that we deliver products of the highest quality.
